Dear Church Family,

Firstly, I would like to thank you all for your support of the church during this difficult period. We have really appreciated the large numbers of people tuning in for Sunday services, seeing the increase in engagement with Connect Groups and for your continued financial generosity.

As restrictions are lifted across the state many of you are likely wondering when we will be able to meet together in person again, and what the transition will look like.

As a church leadership we have considered the advice of the Commonwealth and State Government, as well as the BUV, and have come to agree that KSBC will not be holding organised church gatherings until at least 1 July.

The five reasons to leave your home are currently to shop, access medical services, attend work or education (where you can’t do those things from home), exercise and to visit friends and family. We are asked to practice social distancing in all these cases, and to do them only when necessary.

We do not believe KSBC organised gatherings and events (including Connect Groups and other church ministries) fit this criteria. We are also concerned that it would be difficult to host many people in a home while practicing social distancing (1.5m apart and preferably 4 square meters per person in a room).

We hope that you have been able to catch up with some church friends with the relaxed restrictions, and want to point out that our decision applies to organised church events only - events that are organised on behalf of the church, or on behalf of ministries of the church.

We look forward to a time where we can all be together once more, and we will provide further advice closer to the start of Term 3.

In Christ,

Daniel
Church Secretary
